Sanganer is well known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions. It is famous for textile, handicrafts, and ceramics. One of the centers for textile is Sanganer, a town on the southern outskirts of Jaipur which produces hand printed cotton textile fabrics meant for bed covers and dress materials. The Sanganeri print represents a unique blend of colour, hue, texture, pattern and motif, and is famous and in freak demand both in India and abroad.
The textile printing units in Sanganer are primarily of two types - Hand block printing units and screen printing units. Most of the units follow the screen printing process.
The Sanganer Kapda Rangai Chapai Association (SKRCA) was founded in the year 1996 by the intellectuals of “Sanganer Origin”.
At Present the textile processing is carried out in 700 units in Sanganer. The member units are organized under the Sanganer Kapda Rangai Chapai Association. The Association was formed to represent the common interest of the textile units, and facilities required for common use of the textile units.
